“This system software update improves the quality of the system performance.”. A pretty usual description for Sony’s latest update to the PS4 firmware. PS4 4.72 was released a few hours ago, and is a mandatory update (if you want to keep PSN access).
There’s no indication at this point that this new firmware update patches any vulnerability that could be leveraged for a potential PS4 Jailbreak. In the meantime, the PS4 scene is eagerly waiting for a hacker to release a public Jailbreak for the console. The last publicly known PS4 Jailbreak was released for Firmware 4.76. Several hacking groups have confirmed they have working exploits up to firmware 4.55, and it is likely those work up to the latest 4.72, but nothing has been released yet.
